Application Guidelines

Introduction

The Marks Family Charitable Trust (MFC Trust) makes grants to charitable organisations, primarily based in the UK. There are several key areas of focus for the trust.

We receive a variety of applications within each calendar year. This application form is part of a simple process, which hopes to shorten the time of applicants seeking funding. Within any calendar year we look to work with approximately 10-20 charitable organisations. Some of these will be recurring on an annual basis for 2-3 years, or until the completion of a specific project, the Marks Family Trust will not provide ongoing funding to an unspecified objective.

Key area of focus, in no particular order

  • Young people in the UK, with an emphasis on Education and Health

  • Refugees arriving and living in the UK

  • Promotion of the Arts

Funding

As an independent funder the MFC Trust has no specific mandate and therefore has a great deal of flexibility in the charitable causes it supports. Thee trust endeavours to support projects with a clearly outlined objective, or end goal.

Typically, grants typically fall into the range of £5,000 - £20,000 per year, for up to three years. The MFC Trust aims to offer funding, but also governance, input and time, as needed.

Should an application prove successful, an annual review will be required.
